  One thing I want to say is that often before buying more laptop memory, have a look at the machine into which it is installed. When the machine will be running Windows XP, for instance, the actual memory ceiling is 3.25GB. Applying a lot more than this would purely constitute just a waste. Make sure that one's motherboard can handle the upgrade volume, as well. Good blog post.
