  My programmer is trying to persuade me to move to .net from PHP.
  I have always disliked the idea because of the expenses.

  One thing I'd really like to say is the fact that before acquiring more pc memory, look into the machine into which it could be installed. Should the machine will be running Windows XP, for instance, the memory ceiling is 3.25GB. Applying greater than this would just constitute some sort of waste. Make sure that one's motherboard can handle your upgrade volume, as well. Great blog post.
