!Cognitive biases of the different stakeholders : Don't blame the data

As product managers, we rely heavily on gathering data in order to make product and business-related decisions. But even with the best intentions at heart, many times our decision-making is affected by inherent biases and preconceived notions - not by empirical data.

This is a universal pain across organizations. 

 

In this talk, we will reveal the most prominent cognitive biases and explore mitigation tips to make better data-driven decisions. From Sales to Marketing and from Support to Dev we'll dive into each stakeholder, cover the most painful bias, explore how it affects the product, and how to deal with them.

    You actually make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this topic to be really something that I think I would never understand. It seems too complex and extremely broad for me. I am looking forward for your next post, I will try to get the hang of it!

    I do enjoy the manner in which you have framed this challenge and it does give us some fodder for thought. On the other hand, from what I have seen, I just simply hope as the feedback pile on that people keep on issue and in no way start on a soap box regarding the news du jour. Still, thank you for this fantastic piece and although I do not really go along with this in totality, I value the point of view.

    I believe that avoiding highly processed foods may be the first step for you to lose weight. They may taste fine, but ready-made foods currently have very little vitamins and minerals, making you feed on more only to have enough power to get through the day. In case you are constantly eating these foods, moving over to whole grains and other complex carbohydrates will aid you to have more energy while feeding on less. Interesting blog post.
