It’s not ‘the product’ - It’s your identity

We keep trying to define our role as Product Managers, but shouldn’t we start with understanding the role of the Product in the company we work for, and then move on to what it means to Manage it? Let’s take 18 minutes to kick around a few suggestions and try to come up with an approach? I’ll bring along a case study from a recent chapter, and a hypothesis built around identity that goes with it.

As a Product Manager, it’s only reasonable that I believe this session will be engaging, valuable, and viral... but even if I’m wrong – what’s the risk in an 18-minute sprint, right?

I do like the manner in which you have presented this specific difficulty and it does present us some fodder for thought. However, from what I have personally seen, I simply hope as the commentary stack on that individuals stay on issue and don't embark on a soap box regarding the news du jour. Anyway, thank you for this superb piece and although I can not really agree with this in totality, I value the point of view.

Yet another thing I would like to state is that instead of trying to accommodate all your online degree courses on times that you finish work (since the majority of people are worn out when they come home), try to find most of your lessons on the week-ends and only a few courses in weekdays, even if it means taking some time off your weekend break. This pays off because on the saturdays and sundays, you will be more rested plus concentrated for school work. Thanks a lot for the different ideas I have acquired from your blog site.
